ABOUT THE BASEMENT

The Basement Speakeasy & Comedy Lounge is a venue like no other. The moment you step through the door (if you can find it), you’ll be immediately transported back in time to the Prohibition Era of mystery, mischief, and unadultered fun.

Now featuring on Fridays and Saturdays, Comedy At The Basement has generated a passionate following of people looking for a something a little different on a weekend in Winnipeg. And different we are. The Basement isn’t your classic comedy club. Not only will we feature top of the line stand-up comedy shows with some of the best comedians on the continent, but we also offer a one-stop spot for an amazing night out in our city.

One thing we realized very quickly after running comedy shows at The Basement is that, once the show is over, people don’t leave. They hang out, order more of our famous cocktails, play pool, socialize, dance and chill. And frankly, we love it. That’s why we run a shorter show, usually around 75 minutes, and leave the place open all night for our audience to enjoy.
