Vervacious is a journey back to 1955 through 1960 inspired by jazz, pop, & blues standards sung by the Queens of the Verve record label; The inimitable "Lady Day", Billie Holiday, and "The First Lady of Song", Ella Fitzgerald. Hometown theatre & cabaret creator Kami Desilets (Canada, Mexico, UK) provides a unique sound heavily influenced by both women, while Winnipeg born, international musician & arranger Jonathan Alexiuk makes the music to match as they weave a tapestry of timeless songs to enchant the audience to a forgotten era. Vervacious is truly a step back in time.

Kami Desilets (creator/vocalist) is a Winnipeg born theatre & music performer/producer who has spent the last decade on the cabaret scene in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She has recently relocated to the West-Midlands of England and has immersed herself in the blues and rock community. She's home in Winnipeg for a hot-minute tour, performing all of her favourite genres- Jazz & Blues, 60’s & 70’s classic rock and soul, 80’s & 90’s hits, burlesque, and some good old rock & roll. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jonathan Alexiuk (arranger/pianist) has been performing professionally since 1996. He is a prolific arranger of vocal & instrumental music; his arrangements have been played by the Ron Paley Big Band, the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, the Memory Lane Orchestra, Those Guys, the U of W Downtown Vocal Jazz Choir, the Air Command Band, among many others. At various times, he fills the roles of clinician, adjudicator, instructor, accompanist, and album producer. When not performing locally and around southern Manitoba, he regularly entertains on both the Holland America and Princess cruise lines, putting his vast musical repertoire to use.
